Helmut Frangenberg writes in the Kölner Stadtanzeiger about “Vas-y Sophie” and the Hans Nieswandt remix of “l'heure de danse”: “From Cologne to Mexico and back again via Portugal and Switzerland: The Cologne duo Toi et moi have succeeded in creating a wonderful piece of danceable world music with “Vas-y Sophie” – a wonderful song that they themselves classify as belonging to the previously rather unknown genre of “ska-chanson”.
Jenny Ball, who fills large venues in America and Spain with her band Jenny and the Mexicats, is the trumpeter. The transatlantic cooperation with the local megastar has already won the Cologne band over listeners all over the world just a few days after the digital release.
The Cologne author and DJ Hans Nieswandt, who currently lives in South Korea, has made a very relaxed remix of the piece “L'heure de danse” for the dance floor."
