Jenny And The Mexicats are coming to Germany for the third time in autumn 2019 with their new album "Fiesta Ancestral" to delight their local, ever-growing fan base once again. Festival appearances in the summer and numerous concerts in the USA, Latin America and Spain have drawn the attention of even more fans of (alternative) Latin music. The concert halls and festival stages are constantly getting bigger, because with their unique mix of (alternative) Latin, Cumbua, Falemco, jazz, reggae, rockabilly and pop, they turn every concert into a dance party.
The new album offers an expansion of the previous Mexicats sound, which is also due to the collaboration with artist friends. The album title already indicates the combination of the traditional with modern elements. Songs such as "La Cumbia del Vino" and the Selena cover "Si una Vez" are in the traditional area.
New influences can be heard in songs like "Sonido De Tu Voz" (Prince-like grooves and cool vocals), "La Oportunidad" (the bass!), "Ancestral" (Jenny raps and the song could be from a soundtrack) and "Correr" (has a touch of the B52's).
And of course in the artist collaborations with Spain's great alternative rock band No. 1 "Vetusta Morla" on the pre-release single "El Télon" and the track "Bailando con las Farolas" with the popular Spanish singer-songwriter El Kanka. Both collaborations have brought the band a lot of additional attention and popularity among Spaniards all over the world.
