Björn Heuser's tenth studio album, "Café Schmitz", will be released on March 25, 2022. At the same time, the artist is treating himself - and certainly his fans - to his 40th birthday with this first vinyl album of his career in an elegant "gatefold sleeve". A double anniversary, in light of the past two very challenging years. The result is a series of songs that couldn't be more diverse. Of course, it hasn't remained completely unaffected by the special times, but it leaves them behind even more often. From the popular "Kölle singt" anthem, the song for Heuser's annual sold-out KölnArena show; to the session title "Em neben Levve"; from "Sunnesching", a ballad about true friendship; to "Do un ich", a song for the songwriter's late father, many genres are represented, united by authentic and honest lyrics that are typical of Cologne. There is no shortage of time for romance (“Diamante”, “Ejal wo ich ben”), nor for pure optimism: “Loss et erus”! In his fortieth year, Björn Heuser proves once again that Cologne music does not necessarily have to be carnival music.
