On his website, Heuser writes about the creation of the album: "Compared to previous albums, "Café Schmitz" is certainly the longest period of time in which a record has been created. My tenth studio album was not a quick birth, like the "Kopp voll Dräum" album, for example, which we recorded and mixed in Nashville in just five days." A week before the release of his tenth album, Heuser enjoyed great interest in the print media. He gave extensive interviews to the Kölner Stadtanzeiger (links to the interviews under the article) and the Kölnische Rundschau, among others - and he even landed on the front page of the Express.
"All in all, I am extremely happy with the new work. And when I was able to hold it in my hand for the first time, fresh from the pressing plant, I actually had to swallow. For the first time in my life, I have made a real vinyl record of my own. Another lifelong dream has come true. It has turned out so beautiful, classy and cool - I am thrilled!"
